In January 2004 we moved from Cornwall in the UK to New Zealand - the dogs swapped a life of roaming the moors and lakes to hunting and searching out fun in the gullies and hills of our new farm in the South island.

We have shared our lives with enchanting breed for the past 23 years, they are our four footed kids and a huge part of our family life – all the dogs live with us in our home, most evenings you will find us all on the one sofa (yep it’s a big one) and in the winter crowded around the fire . We call it our flop of Flatcoats.

Our dogs have their own individual characters; however they all have in common a great sense of humour, wonderful temperaments and that famous Flatcoat forever wagging tail.

This breed simply adores water: the sea, rivers, streams, puddles, ponds and water troughs you can’t keep these aquatic addicts out when water beckons. They also have a passion for retrieving, and have to carry something at most times. They are with out doubt mart ( make that very smart) and supremely loyal .

Through our love of Flatcoats we have met some wonderful people; many of those have gone on to become firm friends. Like our dogs we like to be kept busy although our main passion is breed showing we have also taken part in obedience, agility and found time to indulge in our dog’s great love: field trailing.
